General Statement

The Department of Computer Science offers a B.S. degree in Computer Science (CS). The CS program provides the CS majors with a broad-based knowledge in various contemporary computers science fields such as Programming Languages, Computer Architectures, and Operating Systems, Algorithms, Database Systems, Computer Communications and Networks, Cyber-Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics, Computer Vision and Graphics, Bioinformatics and High-Performance Computing, and Software Engineering. The CS program also offers a concentration in Bioinformatics under the B.S. degree.

The mission of the Department of Computer Science, commensurate with the mission of the University and the College of Engineering, is to provide quality Computer Science education, to pursue theoretically and applied research in the critical areas of computer science, and to engage in service to its constituents.
