Admission and Degree Requirements

This is a two-semester Certificate Program in Biochemistry, which requires 18-credit hours (six courses). Students in this certificate program must meet the same admission and performance standards as regular degree graduate students. Additionally, international applicants should submit English proficiency test scores (IELTS or TOEFL) along with their evaluated transcripts. Information about transcript evaluation and other details for international students are present on the Graduate School’s website.

The certificate program requires 18-credit hours (six courses), all of which are transferrable to the appropriate master’s degree program. The student may not enroll in any other courses besides those that are part of the certificate program. Although courses in a Graduate Certificate Program can be credited toward a Master’s degree, there is no implication or promise that the students in a Certificate Program will be admitted to the Master’s program. The students record must indicate that he/she has the necessary background to complete the courses satisfactorily. The student must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, in order to successfully complete the certificate program.
