PSYC 5090 - Guidance and Counseling Services in the Schools (3) Master’s Specialty Core course for Pre•K•12 concentration. History, principles, and philosophy of School Guidance and Counseling Services. This course examines the management of Guidance and Counseling Services which includes definition of roles, functions, the use of resources, referrals, consultation, use of time, facilities, budget and the use of research and evaluation to improve programs. Students holding a master’s degree and seeking certification must take this course. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Graduate School.
