AGSC 4310/5310 - Wildlife Science 3 The course (3 cr. hours) provides an intermediate premise to wildlife taxonomy, biology,
ecology, conservation, and management. This course will focus primarily on game and
non-game vertebrate species commonly encountered in the southeastern United States.
This course will focus specifically on the identification and biological requirements of
mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and birds. This course will also require students to
understand fundamental ecological principles, such as niche theory, vertebrate
community relationships, and inter/intraspecific competition. Students will also learn
techniques to examine habitat requirements and effectiveness of habitat management for
focal and priority species along with statistical techniques to evaluate wildlife-related
data. This course will require periodic field/computer simulation laboratory sessions. AGSC 4310/5310 Prerequisite(s): Prerequisites: General Biology or Introductory Biology CIP 01.000
