AGSC 7610 - Doctoral Seminar in Agricultural Sciences I (1)

Communication of research information to a wide range of audiences is a critical aspect of professional development for future scientists. Following AGSC 5610 where students are taught the fundamentals of presenting a professional level seminar to their student peers, university faculty, and interested persons, students in this course will have the opportunity to practice how to develop and present a professional grade seminar in the weekly departmental seminar series. The student will put to practice skills and good habits in public speaking, preparation and use of effective visual aids, developing techniques for organization, and presentation of scientific research data in slides, and group communication. Presenters will be a mix of students and invited guests from surrounding institutions.
