BIOL 6270 - Cell Metabolism (3)

This course provides a detailed overview of the major metabolic pathways in humans and explores how dysfunction of these pathways, through genetic mutation or other means, leads to disease. This course explores the relationships between cellular and organismal metabolism and human disease. Metabolic pathways of carbohydrate-, lipid-, nucleotide-, metal-, and protein metabolism are discussed in the context of their impact on human organ systems in inborn and acquired metabolic derangements, and integrated with analysis of human disease states.
