EDCI 3500 - Instructional Strategies and the Social Studies Curriculum (3)


This course is designed to introduce the art and science of curriculum design through theory, research, practice, and personal experience. With the Social Studies curriculum and standards at the forefront, this course addresses the state curriculum standards and the developmental needs of PreK-5 students. It includes discussion and reflection on current research and practice related to teaching/learning objectives, planning, methods of instruction, and interdisciplinary teaching. This course is designed to be taken in the first semester of the junior year as partial preparation for thoughtfully and effectively teaching students in PreK-5 classrooms. 15 Weeks
