URBS 4850 - Urban Geography (3) Urban Geography examines cities, urbanization, and urban processes from a geographic perspective. The course explores the spatial organization and development of urban areas, relationships among cities at regional, national, and global scales, and the social, economic, political, and environmental forces shaping urban change. Topics include urban growth, neighborhood change, segregation, poverty, transportation, immigration, gentrification, urban governance, and planning. Students develop skills in analyzing urban issues and interpreting demographic and socioeconomic data.
