ENGL 3600 - Literature of New World Slavery (3)


Examines primary and secondary literature on slavery in the New World. Students will primarily focus on slave narratives as primary texts. Students will examine the insights offered by these texts into the nature of slavery in the New World. Special attention will be given to the United States South before 1865.  Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of ENGL 1010 and ENGL 1020 with a “C” or better.
