ENGR 2610 - Introduction to Mining Engineering (3) Introduction to the principles of mining engineering and the mining industry, focusing on critical minerals. Topics include mining methods, extraction processes, environmental impacts, safety considerations, and mineral resources management. The course provides fundamental knowledge of both surface and underground mining operations. The concept of sustainable development as it relates to a minerals venture is introduced, and the interrelationships between mining, the environment, societal needs, and governance are discussed. Prerequisite(s): ENGR 1020 Freshman Engineering Seminar CIP 14.0401
