General Statement
The Department’s mission is to provide an academically rigorous program in support of the College of Business mission of offering a high-quality academic program. The Department of Economics and Finance offers a program of instruction for those who expect to pursue careers in economics, finance, international business, insurance, or government and provides service courses for business and non-business majors.

Major in Economics and Finance
with Concentration in Economics
General Statement: Concentration in Economics prepares students to analyze economic problems that all modern economies face. Students graduating with this concentration acquire the rigorous analytical skill to relate and apply economic principles and theories to specific (micro) and general and broad (macro) economic conditions. Graduates with this concentration typically find jobs with various governmental agencies; go to graduate studies in economics, law and other areas of business.
