Graduate Certificate in Health Care Administration and Planning (HCAP)

Invest in your career development with advanced skills and competencies in a field that is in demand.  The certificate students apply to begin in the fall or spring semesters. Applicants are eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate program with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 and higher from an accredited college or university. This certificate can be used to bridge admission to the MPH Program when it is completed with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Students admitted to the certificate program who wish to apply any certificate credits toward the completion of the MPH degree must also apply for the MPH degree and meet all MPH admissions standards and be admitted. Advisement is required for certificate students before registration every semester to facilitate completion.

  • HCAP 6515 Health Organizations and Delivery Systems (3)  

  • PADM 6190 Financial Management for Health and Non-Profit Organizations (3) 

  • PUBH 5010 Introduction to Biostatistics (3) 

  • PUBH 5100 Principles of Epidemiology (3)  

  • PUBH 6090 Seminar: Critical Issues in Public Health (3) 

  • PUBH 6100 Capstone Project (3) 

What thresholds must I meet to be eligible for admission? 

•  No standardized exams or tests are needed for admission to this graduate certificate program. 
•  Applicants with a GPA above 2.5 from an accredited college or university are eligible for admission. Please note that official transcripts must be submitted via the GradCAS application system (instructions). 
    o Students who complete the graduate certificate with a 3.0     GPA or higher can earn admission to the PHHAHS program. 
•  Applicants with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited college or university are eligible for admission to our graduate HCAP Certificate program and will be able to earn the graduate certificate alongside the other graduate degrees at the University. 
•  In addition to submitting official transcripts, applicants must submit a current resume or CV, letters of recommendation, and pay the $35 application fee.
