ENGL 2023 - Black Arts and Literature (3)

A study of the contributions of black artists and writers to world culture, especially American culture. The first semester treats oral tradition, poetry, drama, and music; the second semester covers the short story, essay, and novel. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of ENGL 1010 and ENGL 1020 with “C” or better.
