The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) coordinates and supports civil rights compliance for the University. OEI supports a living, learning, and working environment free from discrimination and harassment, where all members of the TSU community feel welcomed and valued.
The Office of Equity and Inclusion enhances the University’s climate of inclusion through the following:
- Investigating and resolving complaints of discrimination or harassment based on race, color, ethnic or national origin, religion, creed, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age (as applicable), status as a covered veteran, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable law
- Facilitating collaboration on all diversity initiatives
- Coordinating disability services for employees and applicants for employment
- Monitoring the University’s compliance with equal opportunity laws and affirmative action guidelines
- Keeping University personnel informed of their obligations under state and federal equal opportunity laws
- Providing training on equal opportunity, affirmative action, sexual misconduct, and other related topics
- Reviewing, approving, and tracking personnel actions for Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance
