Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Applied GIS is an online stand-alone non-degree program designed for degree-holding individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in GIS for their professional growth and career development. The program will prepare individuals to meet the rapidly increasing need for the graduates in highly specialized application and use of GIS. Certificate courses are designed and taught with a focus on the practical application of GIS. The Certificate program requires completion of six courses (18 credit hours) in GIS and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and can be completed by a part-time student in twelve months.
Admission Process
Applicants for the Certificate program must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education and must meet the Graduate School requirements for non-degree admission and retention as published in the University catalog. Requests for application forms and materials should be directed to the School of Graduate Studies and Research.

Certificate Requirements
To earn the Graduate Certificate in Applied Geospatial Information Systems, students must satisfactorily complete the following six courses (18-credit hours).
