NURS 5290 - Psychiatric Nursing I (4) The purpose of this four credit course is to prepare the graduate student to assess, diagnose, and manage the mental health care needs of culturally diverse populations across the lifespan. The focus is on individuals and families. Emphasis is placed on wellness and the pathophysiology and epidemiology underlying acute and chronic psychiatric/mental health problems. Prerequisite(s): NURS 5230 and NURS 5250 . Four hours of independent study per week.
