General Statement

The Accounting major within the B.B.A. degree prepares students for professional careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and internal auditing. The curriculum emphasizes the development of technical accounting knowledge, analytical thinking, ethical decision-making, and effective communication skills. Students are introduced to current accounting standards, financial reporting systems, and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on real-world application and preparation for professional certifications such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Graduates are well-positioned for careers in audit firms, financial institutions, corporations, and public sector organizations, as well as for graduate study in accounting or business.

Requirements for the BBA Degree - 120 Credit Hours Total


General Education and Business Core:


General Education and Business Core are common for all students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, and Economics/Finance. 

General Education Requirements - 36 Credit Hours


Elective Requirements - 6 Credit Hours

Note:


* MGMT 4500  may not be taken until all other business lower division and upper division core courses have been satisfactorily completed and should be taken during the final semester of enrollment.
