Departmental Requirements:
The Department of Art offers a major in Art leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Studio Art, Art Education, and Design.
NOTE: The listed courses and four-year plan serve as a guideline; curriculum updates and course availability may vary. Final degree requirements should be confirmed in consultation with a faculty advisor and the Department Chair.
120 hours required for degree completion:
- 42 hours in General Education
- 18 hours in General Electives, Studio Art Electives, or Minor
- 18 hours in Art Major Core
- 12 hours in Art/DIGN History Electives
- 30 hours of DIGN Art Concentration

Spring Semester
- HIST 2020 - American History II (3) Department recommends HIST 2020; however, HIST 2030, HIST 2060, HIST 2070 or HIST 2700 satisfy this requirement
- DIGN 3100 - Interior, Fashion & Textile CAD (3)
- BIOL 1020, 1021 - Introductory Biology II and Laboratory (4)
- SOCI 2010 - Introduction to Sociology (3) The following courses can meet the Social Science elective AFAS 2010, ANTH 2300, ECON 2010, GEOG 1010, HPSS 1510, POLI 1010, PSYC 2010, WMST 2000, and URBS 2010.
