The 12-hour minor in Education allows non-education majors to complete partial programs of study in education that could be used later to pursue teacher licensure. The minor in education also prepares candidates for careers that include training and development, non-profit sector work, publishing, and government.
For a Minor in Education, students select a minimum of 12 semester hours from the following courses:
- EDCI 2420 - Human Growth and Development (3)
- EDSE 3330 - Education of Exceptional Children (3)
- EDCI 2010 - History and Foundation of Education (3)
- EDLI 3500 - Methods for Teaching English Language Arts (3)
- EDCI 3110 - Classroom Management (2)
- EDCI 3400 - Culturally Relevant Pedagogy Seminar (2)
- EDCI 3500 - Instructional Strategies for the Elementary Classroom (3)
