HCAP 4500 - Health Care Finance (3) (Formerly HCA 450) The purpose of this course is to provide a solid foundation in health care finance and facilitate the student’s understanding of financial management techniques. Upon the completion of this course, students will have a basic understanding of: cost inflation; selecting and tracking stocks; economic models of physician and hospital behavior; cost sharing and cost containment; economic buying and hospital accounting; marketing; pricing and specialization; cost effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis; different forms of physician reimbursements; access to capital and debt financing; evaluation of financing alternatives; health planning and cost control.
